CTC to In-Hand CheatSheet

Seems a valid calculation to me.

You can refer to it probably next time when you are discussing pay or pay raise.

The og author has calculated like this: 'This is almost the best-case scenario without the variable component.

12% PF deduction and 50% basic salary is considered for calculation.'

Can you provide the same for 15cr, just wanted to check if I am negotiating right. Provided an offer of 14cr, need to check the difference if I ask for 15cr 😎

"in hand salary" should be CTC in the table.

QuirkyPretzel
QuirkyPretzel

Yes that's correct

In Hand salary should be "fixed CTC" in the table

BouncyPanda

Not accurate . My CTC is 4.5 and in hand I am getting 30.5 k. If u add gratuaty or something then it comes to 32k

QuirkyPretzel

Is your basic component 50%, if not then this variance is expected.

MagicalPenguin

my friend gets almost 34k with 4.5ctc

SnoozyPenguin

I usually do:

(Total Comp - (Employers PF + NPS contribution + Gratuity - RSUs)) x 0.061 = In hand Salary per month

Note:
Works fine for 30% tax slab salaries and above You can adjust 0.061 (if it's on the higher end) to 0.065 (if you are making about 15L after all the deductions as calculated above)

Seems like a legit formula.

Thank you for sharing this.

People will copy paste every fucking thing. Been seeing this in LinkedIn. Not 100% accurate

QuirkyPretzel
QuirkyPretzel

I haven't claimed or intended to claim it is an original post.

I got it in one of the messenger apps based forums for professionals.

For my salary range I found it to be accurate.

And from the comments many other people also seem to find it accurate.

So while it may not be 100% accurate, it doesn't mean it's absolutely inaccurate too.

Is this a good way to negotiate expected CTC?

An example scenario: Let’s say my CTC is 34 LPA + annual stock payout of 5 Lakhs. My total yearly earning potential is 39 LPA.

In the new role they don’t have a variable or stocks. Is it reasonable to ask for a 25% hike on the overall ...
