After spending 3.5 years with my first company, I’ve finally decided to make a move but honestly, it’s been far more difficult than I imagined. I updated my resume, actively apply on LinkedIn and Naukri every day, but I haven’t received a single interview call yet. It’s disheartening and frustrating. The biggest challenge? My experience is mainly in manual testing, and most companies now seek automation testers. I understand the industry’s shift, and I’m not afraid of learning but the opportunities just don’t seem to come my way. I’m trying my best to stay positive, but I won’t lie there are days when I feel completely lost and hopeless. I started my career in the legal field as an in-house corporate lawyer and have been working for the past two years, currently earning 5.4 LPA. Recently, I accepted an offer from an established startup at 8 LPA, hoping to accelerate my financial growth and career trajectory. However, life has thrown certain urgent financial challenges my way, and I now find myself in a position where I need to scale my income to at least 30 LPA within the next six months. This isn’t just about personal ambition—it’s about fulfilling critical obligations that demand immediate financial stability. This situation has made me question my professional path. The legal field has its growth trajectory, but I am unsure whether staying in this domain is the fastest way to achieve my financial goal or if I should pivot to a different, more lucrative field that offers faster scalability. I am at a crossroads: Should I continue in the legal industry and focus on high-paying niches like M&A, PE/VC, fintech regulations, or international corporate law? Should I transition to a parallel field like consulting, finance, or business strategy, where my legal expertise could add value? Or should I take a completely different approach—exploring entrepreneurial ventures, tech, or other high-growth industries? I know there are people out there who have faced similar dilemmas and successfully navigated them. Navigating the Storm After Campus Placement

I got placed through campus in August 2023 as a Software Developer. Due to the recession, our college closed further placement opportunities, so I held onto that offer. After waiting nearly 1.25 years, I finally received online training that lasted until March 2025. I cleared the assessments and officially onboarded on March 24, 2025. But just four months later—on July 22, 2025—I was laid off. Now I’m struggling to find new opportunities. I don’t have much hands-on experience, and it’s affecting my confidence. I’m trying to stay consistent, but it’s hard to concentrate. The lack of responses and constant chase for referrals is exhausting.
