5moYour thoughts on Working on LOP
I work in a hybrid setup (12 days WFO + rest WFH)
Here's my current situation:
Take-home salary: ₹23K/month
Currently in Chennai
Monthly expenses (rent + food + travel + misc): around 15K
Travel to native every month: ~3K
So in total, I end up spending about ₹18K and saving just around ₹5K.
On top of that, I genuinely struggle with food and the extreme weather in Chennai - not very comfortable long-term.
Now, if I switch to full WFH from my native, I'll lose pay for the 12 WFO days.
Per day LOP: ₹750
Total LOP: ₹9K/month
Which means I'll get around ₹14K in hand.
But the upside is, my native expenses are only ~5K, so I could actually save about ₹9K/month - more savings, better comfort, less heat
