I do have sympathy. But I do consider myself a bit more practical too. I see the loyality being paid by a lay off, but I also see a highly paid resource being let go to hire a less costly resource or even just because those process are self sustained or automated by someone else. Cost cutting. More profits. If I was an owner, and if things are stable in an everyday advancing world, won't I do the same? What's a less painful way to do this. Atleast they won't he labelled as less productive or bad at their role, it is just an ever evolving world of tech.
In all such posts, what is always highlighted is, loyalty, worked for xx years and this is what happened to them.
Were they not paid handsomly, just curious? The appraisals? I think it would be justice to post their starting CTC and CCTC at Microsoft for some other perspective.
Then again, its just a thought, and I do sympathize with the post, I will surely refer if I was in a position to help. Hope they find a better pay job(Maybe in all these years they have set up a business for themself or accumulated a nice wealth to do whatever they want).
P.S. There might be typing errors, I am not on any autocomplete or correction, just grinding the keypad🫠
