If one is a full time farmer, then they would probably work the same. whether it is profitable or not, is a different question, It is not just farmer, there are many professions, that work less than 200 days in a year, and/or offer better WLB.
Salaried employment in India has poor WLB balance, because employees are seen as resource. resource need to be working in order to earn money for the company.

There is standing joke in my office, companies have AC in their offices not to keep the employees comfortable, but ensure laptops dont get overheated.
