Not yet Because a roadblock with AI is prompt engineering. Even if companies take up AI for everything, they will need people who can ask right questions to get the exact data. AI is too nascent to be intelligent in itself

But the requirement will drastically dip.

@Dataplease Probably dip not wiping out, Data/business analytics role will grow from doing less manual jobs to more brainy stuff. We gotta wait how this plays out.

I don't think so. The software engineering around any field is never going to be in threat until AGI comes in. I know it's cliche but AI is here to make your life easier and work faster with efficiency. I still think we have a long way to go for AGI from whatever i have read.

AI as such may not, but completely automated systems may get the number of roles reduced.

There is a chance honestly, that data analysis jobs and core analytics as a space, can be heavily automated. There are already multiple sql generation related tools available in the market.

But still, not gonna be obsolete in anytime within 5 years for now. Because the solutions are still nascent and generic and to be able to provide custom solutions to all the businesses, is gonna take a lot of time. But surely, a lot of work can be automated in the future in data, pipelines, queries, insights fields.

This will not impact ML engg or AI scientists yet as of now.

Analytics is all about asking a right question, therefore I don’t think so
