Why are all Engg Manager non-IITS?

I have been interviewed with lots of companies. I have lots of Engineering Manager in my LinkedIn connections. I don't see a single manager from IITs? Where the fuck did they all go? Tens of thousands of them in past 20 years and I don't see a single one. I know they started with big techs but what happened to them. I know there are IITians running big schools like MIT, Berkley, Harvard, CMU. But these are academics. What happened to the techies and core devs? Do you know anyone?

Most CS graduates from IITs get placed in US or move to US in the initial years of their careers. So, yeah you won’t find them in Indian companies.

They either migrated to the US or did management consulting in India. Tech boom in India is a recent trend like post 2014-ish.

It's not that you won't find iitians in these positions and neither is it true that all of them move to the US...the toppers or rankers do go out of India 💯 but others do stay and I have in fact worked with many iitians in good engineering positions...just a random check on LinkedIn will show you the same.

Too many MBAs ruining companies?

Thoughts on this? I myself did my MBA from a T-1 school and found it value enriching experience that allowed me to crack my role at Uber.

What do you think?
