Worked in a Tier 1 city earlier for 6 years. Been here in Bangalore for about 5 years now. Career has progressed reasonably after moving here.

The community here is ambitious and fantastic. I attend meetups and get to learn a lot from my peers in my field while sharing mine. The vibe is contagious and the networking is solid. This is one major benefit that comes along free with this city.

Learnt basic Kannada. Can understand decent amount of the language and respond with basic words plus English. Never really faced language issues due to that. Purely my interest and effort. And most importantly, I don't argue unnecessarily with the locals (or anyone outside my workplace for that matter) too. Unless my cab driver or the delivery guy is a proper North Indian I don't use Hindi. So I'm fine.

Infra has been poor irrespective of the governments, for the pace at which the city has grown. Probably the only grouse I have with this city. Rationally speaking, this is a problem with every metro city and not just Bangalore. Just that it gets highlighted way out of proportion. Guess I will stay here as long as I work in India.

Good food options. Weather has been good. Summers are getting hotter as years pass though! But that's expected.

Why would anyone have a reason to leave such a beautiful city? The only people are leaving Bangalore the ones who have made zero efforts to learn even the basics of the local language hence facing difficulties.

You think people leave Bangalore only for language issues? What about poor infra? Corrupt authorities? Worst planning?

Bangalore is blessed with the top minds, local people are people moved here are all making so much efforts to make this city happening, govt is blind to foresee it and plan accordingly?

Can anyone share one project, one flyover, one metro route or anything planned in a futuristic way and completed on time? Do we have any stretch where one can drive peacefully for 200 meters without bumping onto a pothole?

How many north side language you learned , btw for your knowledge hindi is not north side any state’s mother tongue language.it was use just to communicate with other state. So if you ever visited to any state for even 1day . You might learned that state language. Don’t tell who are staying more day in Karnataka should learned Kannada not for one day trip , if you want to tell this question. How you know who are here for how many days? My wife got harassed for speaking in hindi or English less then 2 month of our stay . Give respect take respect. Bangalore is only good for two reason job and weather. Apart from some people many are in angry mood not sure why.

I was born here. I can't imagine living in any place that's not Bangalore, it's because of the food , the people , the environment. I know there are downsides of living here , like the cost of living , traffic etc etc. But which place doesn't eh?

People are good here, yet Bangalore is a fked up city destroyed by corruption and overcrowding. City could have been better planned. No point of thinking future in a desert. What's the point of infrastructure development without proper supply of water.

Believe me there's no other city that can match bangalore in many aspects. The bangalore issues like language and flooding is just over hyped on social media but traffic is a problem.
Just don't stay in PGs in areas like Marathahalli, Bellandur and Whitefield

I once spent 4 hours looking for a ride to cover 4 kms. Finally got a cab at 12 in the afternoon. That was the day I decided to leave

Bhai bahut pretentious city h, people have no personality just running behind and acting like what they think is best, when you ask basic questions about their beliefs everything starts falling apart.

PeppyPretzel

I left Bangalore in 2019 because of Metro work, traffic near Whitefield was horrible. It used to take more than 1 hour to reach the office from Marathahalli. I will be so tired that on the professional and family front, I started struggling. It was a bold but beautiful decision.

Is this end near for BLR?

It's crazy how this native-non native issue persists immensely in Bangalore. No other developed city like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune has this.

Bangalore is going down big time with so much rising hate in the city.
