From what my dad told full address was written because of physical letters exchanged back in their times.

Even put current and expected salary at the bottom.

Current Salary is where we are losing, we need to be paid as per budget

instant communication has changed the game, it's a playground for vultures now.

True, I did some editing of resume for some of my family members who are almost about to retire.

Their resume are nothing like we see these days, they will mention stuff like Address, Mobile Numbers(sometimes spouse number as well), marital status, their passport size photo and in the end a declaration with a signature as well.

Some of these are okay like maybe YOUR mobile number, rest are not required like they will not visit you at your home or look at your photo to decide to hire you, you should give out stuff related to your work only and I would say email is also enough as it is official mode for communication in orgs.

Deceleration paragraph with a signature is also very stupid, if you are sending your resume then it is assumed that you have filled out all necessary information and it is best to your knowledge.

I found all this in someone younger, '18 grad Understandable for older folks, they had to physically sign resumes. But why now

Some people do provide PAN, DOB, Passport and other such details too.
