What’s the best way to not get laid off?

there should be one more option "be irreplaceable in a revenue generating department"

this ^

Work hard guarantees more work for you. Nothing more

Positive perception building Work smart and make leadership believe ur irreplaceable

Any tips for this? I find it difficult to brag about my work. Though seniors and managers have recognized my hard work on multiple times in meetings, it has been always someone else saying it

Don’t be employed

If company starts showing signs of layoff. Start attending interviews try to leave by yourself. Even if you're not gonna be affected, it's not worth the mental torture of that being under the radar of layoff.

Take maternity/paternity leave in this time and take a few more leaves when it's time to come back.
There is a person in my company whose whole dept got laid off/left except one person who is on maternity.

Resign before they fire you.
