What kind of team folks you prefer to manage. As a manager.

Respond only if you have managed people for real

Sincere. Intense. One who is proactive
On time as expected task completer
Asks everything always . Asks and does
Makes you look good to your boss
Chill. Does work on own time

Manager behaviour or expectation are usually the reflection of top leadership. Same manager who ask you to deliver quality product may ask you to just get things done considering push from leadership.
Usually a manager prefer team members with different skills and optimize resources based on the need of the project. Your focus should be on understanding your manager's current challenge and help him resolve them. Try to stop seeing things in isolation. Try to be a friend with your manager and understand the constraints in which something needs to be executed. This will help you grow faster by understanding more complex buisness challenges.

The most critical problem I see is the boundary between manager's and devs. Manager's unfortunately do not share everything with the devs because they are not allowed to and devs don't trust their manager and see them as someone who want devs to work 24/7.
