I drank too much at an office party, and told my coworker that I was disappointed at my salary growth and title. She cleverly told it to my boss who got worried about me leaving. Guess who ended up with a promo.

I had to send an email to my boss,(with his boss in CC) but I accidentally sent it to his boss(with him in CC)
End result, got promotion at my boss' level because he was apparently taking credit for my work. My boss left soon after.

reminder: always send the data to the right stakeholder for your growth

How would things change otherwise? If you had sent a mail in the original way also, I think it would hardly make a difference since the mail is coming from you.

Scenario set up: (Loc-DELHI NCR)
In a meeting with Associate Managers (6-7) on a monday morning on teams ofc, and I was listening to music.
Now there was a manager named ‘Mahesh’ and at that time there was a viral song namely ‘Mahesh Dalle’ (you get where I am going with this now😂)
Now what happened:
My (let’s say my name is Viraj) mic was open (i didn’t notice 🌚) whilst I was vibing to that song, Suddenly everyone in that meeting started laughing, theek my manager Mahesh ofc told me “Viraj gaana sunno koi dikkat nahi par mic toh band karlo” and lmao everyone was laughing there asses off. Mahesh is a good manager he laughed it off and let it slide, since then we are super chill and talk very casually 😮💨

Mahesh Dalle 😂

I was invited to an office party. Anyway I ended up not going because I hate my boss.
I then came to know that zero hikes this year because even if your dept did well the company didn't.
I knew what was up and Left that company for good.

i can't help but agree with you whole heartedly.

Once I shouted at my manager bluntly for shamelessly taking credit of the entire work I did and not even giving me the promotion. Guess what someone in my team resigned a month later, maybe due to fear of me leaving as well my manager gave me promotion as well as 50% raise in next 2 weeks saying company values the work that I did and you are a valuable resource. Within 6 months I resigned as I dont want to work for that asshole who was just an ass licker and puppet of senior managers. But i did get a good raise on my fixed pay as I dared to ask it bluntly which helped me negotiating when I was looking for other opportunities.
Take that leap of faith guys, bluntly ask what u want from the company be it money, promotion, specific project , leave. Even if u are in a so called 9 to 5 just don’t be slave, if you are not happy either your current job simply switch.
But dare to ask what u want.
