If verification is turned on and required, I'd probably stop using the system. It probably won't solve anything either. Here's why:

1. If people are not verified, there's nothing that can be done about made up content. Either you believe it, or don't. Like on Reddit.
2. Even if verification is brought in, I'd never trust a third party to ensure anonymising my profile 100%. What if the DB gets hacked and my real info gets out? Maybe I'm over defensive, but this is my only gripe with verification.
3. The anonymity will probably go to shit if the govt ever wants you give info. So yeah, not giving away my identity so that some randoms on internet can truly believe that my water cooler stories are true.

If you can make how you do anonymization transparent, then that might alleviate some of my fears. I just never ever want my bosses (former + current) to know that it was me who wrote all those things here. Lol who would.
