Urgent Help.....

I am a person with epilepsy. From my last attack, my Dr. has increased my dose to 400mg carbamazapaine in the morning and night. I am feeling drowsy and unable to concentrate in the mornings. I informed Dr. as well. She mentioned that for my condition it's mandatory to take 400mg in the morning and night. How can I come out of this drowsiness and concentrate well. Even though I am washing my face multiple times during work I am unable to come out of this brain fog kind of thing.

I recently joined an esteemed organization with a good package.

Moreover my managers micromanage everything.

How do I concentrate and perform well.

All I need is to concentrate and perform well.

P.s I am also taking Atomoxetine for ADHD. Risperidone 0.5 MG (I don't know why my Psychiatrist prescribed this.)

Hey! That medication brain fog is so frustrating - you know you’re capable but feel like you’re thinking through molasses, right?

First, Press Pause - this drowsiness is a known side effect of carbamazepine, especially at higher doses. Your brain is literally adjusting to new chemical levels.

Here’s what our clients with similar situations find helpful:

Timing hack: Ask your doctor if you can take more of the dose at night and less in morning. Many people find this reduces daytime drowsiness.

Brain fog tricks:

  • Cold water on face/wrists when you feel foggy
  • 2-minute breathing exercise before important tasks
  • Break work into 25-minute chunks with 5-minute breaks

The micromanagement thing is probably making everything worse - stress + medication side effects = double brain fog.

Important: Don’t adjust meds on your own, but definitely discuss the drowsiness impact with your doctor. Sometimes slight timing changes or asking about extended-release versions can help.

Your brain will adapt to the new dose over 2-4 weeks, but if it doesn’t improve, push for alternatives.

You’re not broken, just adjusting! 💪

Too many pills. Try natural methods first - eat clean whole foods, exercise daily, take less stress - change jobs if current one is too stressful. Take help of family to get better while working a less stressful job.

This of it this way, If you die due to job stress and exhaustion, your current job will replace you in less than a week. You family won’t be able to replace you ever.
So keep your focus on health and rest will follow.
