Trending @Infosys; Good or Bad decision
I got offered from deloitte for 17 LPA.My current CTC is 11LPA. I thought of resigning.My mentor told than my progression to L2 will happen effective from April and my rating in curr OS and CD prev so my new CTC may be nearly 16 but not 16.So decided to stay with infosys.
How many of you think I made wrong decision.Which means if you are in my place you pick deloitte rather then infosys and why please comment ?
You could have initiated the seperation. If they increase you will get it for sure. Even they will try to match the Deloitte offer.
The catch is if I initiate Esep the finance team will not consider my role changes.So if I initiate E sep then no possibility for my retention.
When will you get the promotion letter? Usually you should get it by March end if it is effective from April 1.
Here's my twoCents, apply for e-separation, you will be in 3month notice period, as you already are a power programmer I'm assuming you are half decent with DSA, now go full throttle, revise and practice dsa you have three months, apply to as many companies as possible, aim for product based. You will have some or the other good offer from a product based company, if you follow this, i can guarantee, you will get better offer than 17, and a product based company aswell. Hope you think about it.
Btw I'm also in your shoes, only difference is you have an offer so utilize it, the more value you get outside infy, here also you will have more power to negotiate, they will say anything to make you stay, dont fear loosing your promotion, if you decide to stay you will get a hike anyways, and 3 months is enough for a PP to switch to better companies.

I asked the mentor for the promotion to the L2 but he mentioned it will be only after you have 3 yr of exp my rating is commendable
But I didn't have any communication that he nominated me is it for everyone that after 3 years they will promote to L2
No until and unless you ask and keep him repeatedly remaining him that you want to get promoted it will not happen.Why do you think some one wants to promote you even though you are not asking.
More over to be Frank until and unless you put paper nothing will happen in time.
When is you L2 nomination submitted, for me it was submitted on december and i was expercting in in april, recently on March the lead came again and told to submit the nomination excel again, when i asked about previous one the told like it havent get through so need to submit again in this quarter, dont believe too much, they can Knock down it into one or two quarters, "nomination is not a promise"
But I got it written in mail by my MU lead
I will suggest you to choose Deloitte because we can't expect the hike frok the Infosys.
@UnlinedPack5 Will the nomination start from April or your mentor already nominated you for the L2?
Nomination for next quarter will start in present quarter.if role change effective from April then Nomination will happen in Jan to March.nominatio in April June then role change effective from July.
