Took me a long time to realise this..
Salary bands are TOTALLY flexible when
- the org is heavily funded
- The CEO/ Board personally wants you hired
- you are about to quit with another strong offer in hand and the manager needs you to save his/her job .. like .. pretty please types
- the team just lost someone exactly like you last week and and the manager needs you to save his/her job .. like .. pretty please types
- You're trending in the market for some good reason (LinkedIn, podcasts, X) and now you're "high signal" overnight
Don't let the Finance or Comp & Ben team tell you otherwise. They'll drop words like parity, structure, and "pay philosophy" But one panic exit or one exec nudge, and suddenly their Excel becomes emotional.
So cute..

A Hr resource telling the truth? Damn there are good Hrs too!!

Are there any sub reddits where HRs tell us about company secrets or something that will help us

Trending in the market for LinkedIn is interesting. Most of the posts from so call top voice are either current news and affairs curated tactfully for LinkedIn consumption or ai generated , copy pasted or worst the insane ability to find a learning, meaning in normal life events e.g. the neat work done by my maid taught me consistency and excellence in even mundane tasks.

I doubt it plays out in big or brand companies bcoz they are inundated with applications. Definitely somethings can make the resume stand out in such places but pay flexibility might be less. Though the other points are worth keeping in mind 🫡

Lund kuchh nhi samajh aya sorry 😐
