[Thread] What is according to you makes life worth living?
If you ask me, the purpose of life has to be more than climbing a self-constructed ladder.
Like, it has to be more than a 3BHK in a metro, with two kids, a car and a prestigious job at a faceless corporation, 2 weeks of vacation and a movie on the weekend.
Isn’t this weird that, we all continue to fool ourselves?
When you know nothing matters the universe is yours, and I've never met a universe that was into it. The universe is an animal, it grazes on the ordinary. It creates infinite idiots just to eat them.
You know? Smart people get a chance to climb on top and take reality for a ride but it'll never stop trying to throw you. And eventually it will, there's no other way off

Remember when you were a kid and had a school trip the next day?
You sleep all excited, over preparing your bag, snacks, your pocket money and sleep fantasizing the day forward.
You wake up on the morning. You are excited as hell. Although it's no different than any other day but everything feels colorful. You can't wait to hop into your school bus and meet your friends who are just as excited as you.
I think what makes life is worth living are these experiences. When you sleep, you have something to look forward to. Someone to do, something to achieve, something you truly enjoy or be passionate about.
If you are just going through days fixated on the coming weekend or planned holiday. That is when things get a little messy.
I'm in that zone right now. I try to seek the satisfaction and happiness inside of me. So I don't depend on materialistic or emotional to feel lively. It must come from within and its damn hard to cultivate.
When I'll have that I'll be off from this corporate for good. .

@pareshan you said something very deep, there are innate experiences that make us human. We are made to overturn challenges, to explore and to seize the moment.

So well written @pareshan
If some of that pure joy comes back, that’s all I yearn for
Like playing a video game without feeling guilty about wasting time. It used to be so simple.
Actively trying to get back to feeling like that again, even though it sounds ridiculous

There is no purpose to life but you can create one for yourself to get by, to live and to conquer it all..
"The fact that life has no meaning is a reason to live, moreover the only one." - Emil Cioran
"The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead." - Bojack Horseman
BUT a more apt quote would be:
"Someone once asked me if I had learned anything from it all. So let me tell you what I learned. I learned everyone dies alone. But if you meant something to someone... If you helped someone... Or loved someone... If even a single person remembers you... Then maybe you never really die. And maybe... this isn't the end at all." - Person of Interest

Wow, really glad I ended up reading that Love the page.

The fact that there is no purpose to life is what makes it absolutely worth living in my opinion. I can delude myself into thinking I have one, but honestly I don't. Thoughts and experiences are just picked up on the way so as I go on living they'll keep on accumulating and changing, so keeping a temporary thing as my compass to live would be conflicting.
Of course, if someone is suffering from some chronic disease which causes them suffering daily, I don't know what their answer will be. That's a personal choice.
That's the thing for me. As long as I see a choice, it's not deterministic and therefore I can just live. So, to live now is why I live in general.
Alright, too much gyaan/rambling.

What makes life worth living are honestly my family, friends and a few kind strangers. That’s pretty much it.

@DrProduct Have I been a kind stranger to you? You have been one to me.
Also, that is a perfectly genuine answer. Probably true for most people. 💪🏻🙌🏻

What you are talking about is the Matrix. The Rat race as you may know it. And it's real.
Most people don't understand it and are unknown to the fact that they are trapped in a matrix and are living their life as per the society's expectations or norms.
But if you understand this fact, you can escape the Matrix.

Depends on person to person
For me it is not kids or family life, i earn bcs i enjoy coding, from the money i enjoy Long Island ice tea😝
I trade stocks bcs again money makes me happy. I go to gym and swimming and treks because i like being outdoorsy and it makes me happy
I intend to use all my money towards end of my life and open gaushala and animal shelter. Donate my organs to needy and finally be with my grandma and mother bcs again it will make me happy that i left world a better place than i found it. Very minute but that’s fine, I’m not built for making big changes.
I think it boils down to finding one’s own happiness or maybe I’m still naive at 24

@Vegetabledev22 Life is funny, you will change your mind many times over and so will I 🙌🏻

There is no such thing as "life being worth living". It doesn't matter what you do, you will always have to eat, drink, shit, piss regularly and then die. Happiness in your life will only happen when there is sadness and vice versa. It is a completely zero sum game.

This is almost 1 year old post. How did you land here bro?

Grapevine recommended it to me.

Life has no meaning, no purpose. Almost everything in this world will die. Life is nothing more than an insignificant thing. In this big universe, we are a small small tiny part. We will die one day, everyone will. People will do all sorts of things just to forget this fact.

@GeneralZod All the more reason to go all in and risk it all.
