I'd wait for a year or so to give my opinion on this.
I was at a fairly high end tailor today, and the sheer beauty in the art of crafting a perfect fitting suit is unparalleled.
When I see a true master make the right knots and use chalk to measure on fabric, the beauty of peak human skill emanates from each motion.
It made me realise that we might be doing something extremely interesting in our day jobs but it is extremely hard to showcase true human mastery in it.
Suddenly, it dawns on you that although white collar jobs are paid well commensurate to the value they create, we seldom obtain skills that exhibit a similar level of craftsmanship.
There is indeed true beauty in the creation of the perfect suit.
Somehow, it is a reminder for us all that builders are the ultimate value creators. Enablers ensure value enrichment but you can’t enrich something until the genesis of value.
And it is the death of human ingenuity if we become glorified file movers.
Why are some examples of human craft that makes you awestruck? What are your thoughts on this post?
Would love to hear you all out.
Craftsmanship is all just POV and honestly, takes great taste to appreciate such things
We have very few people striving to get better and better at just one (small) thing and I love it!
Plug for some great event planners, physicians and bakers is all I can think of now lol
@Mimieux I agree 💯 percent.
Oh please tell me about some very specific experiences. It forces me to appreciate human skill through a different lens. 🔍
Well here goes, I remember this new grad doctor who was only a GP, he diagnosed a thyroid issue correctly just by looking at blood reports, an issue which many specialists had earlier ruled out. I can't speak to how he went about that diagnosis but we always suggest people we know to consult this doc now.
I'm also partial to bakers and other small restaurant owners who are willing to go out of their way to maintain quality/variety of items and keep prices affordable. I remember when organic ingredients weren't an elite item used only in select shops but many places in middle class areas used them until they had to compete on price with multiplying bakeries.
I just don't understand the premium you need to now pay for quality ingredients and items that used to be widespread. But, to be fair, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more but I feel using the word organic or natural just gives you free rein to charge absurd sums😏
Cooking .. it has to appeal to multiple senses and distinct palates and expectations...
@Evictus Tell me more about the time when you experienced the greatest gastronomic experience.

Wow! Now, grapevine is moving up in the world.
I like bridges. It always amazes me to see bridges in the most difficult and impossible terrains.
@itzprobablyme Honestly, bridges and dams are amazing feats of human ingenuity.
It literally makes you tear up with joy, when you realise how human collaboration at scale helps us conquer everything.
In a way we are nothing but an ant colony, working together to be the greatest ever.
@itzprobablyme Tell me about your favourite bridge and the story behind it please? 🥹
