The 9 Hrs mandatory login period rant.
So I was working wfh since past year and recently shifted to a project after a promotion, it’s a nice project and something I was looking forward to work with, but now my reporting manager says that you have to clock atleast 8 hours daily at this tracking software ( Nippon Buddy ). And I’ve to report to office 12 days a month, that’s okay but this 8 hours capture time is kinda nuts. Do you guys have these kinda policy as well or is it just at service based companies ?

This time log is worst thing happened with devs. Who has this much time to log time onto some portal. The work we are doing is less for management.

Glad that's not the case with TCS, we just need to mark the attendance that's all.

Let me guess.. Infy?

I think there should be some software which does the mouse activity automatically. Or maybe tried running YouTube video on loop that'd keep the laptop on?

What is wrong in working 8 hour? Please explain. We get paid to work for 9 hour.

I’m ready to work 12 hours, but it should be core work.
For example I had work on Friday which took me 3 hours, I had to stay logged in for 8 hours moving my mouse left and right to stay active.
But that’s okay, I can manage that.

The reason for this micromanagent is the lack of vision with the leadership. They are now unable to find breakthrough ideas/projects. When nothing seem to work, the usual technique is to resort to "increasing efficiency of resources". Aka human time management. If this started in the last 3 months, its a good to sign to short IT stocks.

Started last week

had this long back... before narayn bro inspired for this.😁 quantity over quality 😄
