tech sales roles making 45LPA++?

Holy shit I just met someone who’s in sales at a B2B SaaS startup in Bangalore and wow this guy makes 45LPA at a minimum and gets BIG payouts every time he closes an enterprise customer! Like 1-2L. Didn’t know sales people can earn more than developers. If you’re someone in sales earning 40LPA+, please comment and show us the way.

Sales is the most rewarding career IMO. In no other job do you get paid proportionately for the results you bring.

Yeah it’s quite common nowadays but they also have so much pressure and quota and all that jazz

This has been happening since ages not just in startups. Sales guys make tons of money. Go to car showrooms, they receive commission from the dealers. Hyundai, suzuki. Mercedes sales guys receive butt load of money

If you are passionate about selling , love to talk , communicate and you are naturally able to c communicate your thoughts well with people ; Sales will indeed be the most rewarding career . And if you can develop skills to crunch numbers better , analyse data well and make excellent PPTs ; you will do great as sales / Business Development/ Strategy roles

Yes you can, personally have done for multiple years now. It's a rewarding career, provided you can grind and live with the stress, not to mention the insane amounts Nimmo tai takes away at the end of every month for ZERO return.
Also, in most cases, sales folks are the first to get laid off. In short, it's a high risk - high reward career.

What are the top companies to look into for AE roles?

FluffyDumpling
FluffyDumpling

Salesforce, Microsoft, AWS, Microsoft, MongoDB and more...but depends which segment are you catering to and what's your experience like.
For Mid- Market - the comp for an AE (7-9yrs exp) would be around 60-80L.
For Enterprise business the comp for an AE(8-10+yrs) would be a minimum of 1-1.2Cr in any of the above companies mentioned.

I am currently in channel sales. Is it worth it move into tech sales and if so, how is that position? Also how does AI affect sales job in the near future?

Yes tech sales is rewarding and you should try it out. IMO sales is like consulting. Bring in a new generation of tech and you will need to people to sell it. Entry level jobs (SDR / BDR) might get affected though but you will always need AEs to push your product.

I am in mid market sales, and yes in some companies, if you're handling enterprise accounts like Apple, Microsoft, Google - you can easily make that much and more with enough experience and skill. And especially if you've already achieved your target, anything above that will trigger multipliers to your compensation; sometimes 2-3x amount. Yes, can definitely make it big in sales if you have mental fortitude for it

Yea but such high salaries and non toxic workplaces will be rarer than developer jobs won't they?

5yrs experience, B2B SaaS, 25LPA?

I was interviewing a candidate with 5yrs of experience in B2B SaaS marketing. He seemed to be an okay candidate, his demand was 25LPA.

His package seemed to be a bit high for the knowledge he holds. He said that's market standard. I am...

Bangalore for better salary

Does it make sense for someone at 35LPA in project management with 18 years of experience to relocate to Bangalore for a better salary.

What I have heard is that salaries are better in Bangalore in general.
