Stuck Between 6 Years on Paper and 3 Years in Reality
I’ve got about 6 years of total work experience. Out of that, the first 3 years were in a non-IT role, and the last 3 years have been in IT, where I’m mainly supporting the Azure platform.
Along the way, I’ve also been learning tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, and Linux. I don’t have hands-on work experience with them yet, but I’m genuinely interested in moving towards that direction.
Now, I’m stuck with two big questions in my mind: 1. While applying for new roles, should I project my full 6 years of experience, or be clear that I only have about 3 years of relevant IT experience? 2. Should I keep building my career around Azure roles and go deeper into that, or should I try to move into a DevOps-focused role (even though my current exposure to DevOps tools is more learning than actual project work)?
Would really appreciate some honest suggestions from people who’ve been in a similar spot.

Mention 5 year relevant experience(you will get more apportunities) As per your experience you can go with either DevOps or Azure as per your interest.

Put it down. Any experience counts as part of a career and your work ethic building.
