Maybe use a crowd funding at this stage and let it grow organically. Can think of monetizing organically on the side too.
Even if it cheap (Whatsapp started with $1/yr), monetizing now at lower base, it successful can signal existence of value & not just a fad.

Although rev/user will be meager, it will grow till it reaches a scale and and total revenue will grow like a hockey stick.
