Serving Np without Offer

Hi Everyone,

I have 40days more on my NP. I am attending interviews and after each round some hr's reveal the result others either I should call and get the update or they will forget that they conducted my interview and some goes in silent mode even after clearing 2nd round. They shows as if they are desparately looking for a candidate but after attending client round also they are progressing slow. Even after clearing 2tech rounds and 1 client round still they are delaying. Sometimes they have 4rounds in that already 3rounds over.I have informed my LWD in sept end bcz of which they are dragging that's how I feel. How to handle this situation? Should I go behind them for followup? Or I should wait until they reach out to me? I know 1st offer will be tough to receive. But even to secure 1 offer it's getting delayed and they are negotiating for Sept 2nd week joining in the initial screening call itself. However I will keep attending the interviews. Please share your experience,do you have any strategy to handle this situation? it would be helpful... TIA🙏

Ask for a 25-30% hike only to get your first offer.

Sure. May I know what will happen if I ask 40-50% if my current package is very low for my experience?

In the same boat actually, my notice is over but I'm interviewing currently.

Always tell you have an offer, tell it's in some other state and you don't want to relocate

Can DM me if you want some advice

And what if they ask to share the offer letter? Then? We would be caught lying and would that look good?

HRs sense desperation , any specific reason you are leaving without a job at hand .

ZoomyPanda
ZoomyPanda

Yes. Because of my manager and the way am getting treated. At some point it started to affect my mental and work life balance. Now in notice period I told the reason for leaving is you then from that point only weekly once connecting with me. I am preparing very hard to get 1 offer each interview goes in different level , complexity is high still I could able to gain some confidence after each round. But I need to get 1 offer that's my main goal as of now.

  1. Apply for jobs like crazy. Maybe make 2-3 variations of your CV and use them accordingly. Linkedin, Naukri, Instahire are the ones I know of.

By crazy I mean 100 minimum every day, not counting easy applies.

  1. Change your LWD in Naukri to 2 weeks from now and keep changing that every 2-3 days.

  2. Maybe try for different roles that might not align 100% with your experience but 70-80%

  3. Don’t filter companies depending on their size or pay till you get the first offer, be ready to get 25-30% hike in the first offer, and afterwards that becomes your baseline.

  4. Make lots and lots of connections and ask them to refer you. However you have to find out the specific job id before asking anyone for help.

  5. Risky trick when HR asks if you have any offer in hand say yes but still looking out because of location or kind of role or the company is small scale startup etc.

If we get 1st offer and don't go there, can we use that offer letter as counter in other companies if the date of joining of that offer letter has passed ??
I am immediate joiner and not able to get 1st offer for now 😢

If I have to apply for 100 min means I should get atleast relevant to my skills. Am getting but it's like diff location and other requirements. Still would you advise me to apply for more jobs daily?

Ask for less Hike in First Offer, then another point is they normally drag this to last week, standard practice. Because, if they roll out early you will swipe that with better one. I have seen this early, you will get lot of Offers in last 2 Weeks. Keep Applying, All the best

Hope this will work in my case during my last 2 weeks... But what if I say my LWD in sept but it's in oct mid. Almost 15days would be there gap

Bro tell your LWD is 1 week before your actual LWD. Then cite medical reason to postpone. I feel you shouldn't chase HR for interview results because they will sense desperation. Give interview and leave it. If they ask for offer letter, tell you can't share because of confidentiality or show don't care attitude. Get first offer with 15% offer at least, don't agree for less than that. If you're sure you can crack any interview, don't withdraw resignation or if you dont get any confirmed offer, do it 3-4 days before your LWD. Don't wait till last minute. But if you withdraw, ask for team change or else you'll be swamped with extra work and high expectations.

Follow up after 2-3 days of the interview round and ask for feedback or further process, and tell them you will try to negotiate on the notice period kind of but that is only possible after the offer is received

If I say that will they release the offer letter post selection?

Show your exact date in naukri. Keep on editing your skill set. Am getting calls only on Monday,Tuesday.

SleepyCupcake

Keep giving interviews bro , offers will start to flow in the final month. You will even get more frequent calls for interviews and all.
Hope your naukri profile is optimized and you do daily activities there.
That will increase traction.
For first offer just ask or agree for industry standard 25-30% . Next offers you can ladder your way above.

SleepyCupcake
SleepyCupcake

and yeah, a professional and catchy thank you mail after interview and a professional follow up after every 2-3 days is not an issue.
You can call as well casually , like just to check on the status but don't let them notice your desperation, instead show like I am very interested in your org/brand and am following up because I do need to make a decision on which company to join as my LWD is approaching.

QuirkyPotato

These days most orgs provide offer letter in last 2-3 days so that we don’t use that offer to get better offers

QuirkyPotato
QuirkyPotato

And so they delay even the last round or sometimes complete all the rounds but final result would be provided in the last week
