Doesn’t stop there. Discussed my new salary with another friend. He realised he too was getting underpaid. Switched his job with 100% increment. Moved from a 1bhk to 3bhk in Bangalore.

Friendship isn't about salary. Even when my friends ask, I tell them "earning enough for my needs".
This is not the reason for wrong group. Friendship is about helping someone when they need help and you can do that. It's alright to make more friends from people who earn more than you, but not ok to leave existing ones.
This ain't Quora and we don't need this question here. This anonymity exists so we can help each other grow.

I don’t know how much my friends make. But this one time when I was sick, they all took turns to be with me, made me food and ran errands. So yeah, I really don’t care about their salary.
