Resume naming convention and hiring decision

Recruiters and hiring managers - Do you really care how a resume is named? Does Firstname.pdf vs FirstNameLastName.pdf change your short listing decision? Saw a reel on Instagram which is promoting people to name their resume FirstName_LastName_CV.pdf or get rejected. I feel it’s just BS to get engagement

I've tried different combinations. Just putting them down here. Not sure whether these really helped me though. But I ensure to do one of these while mailing the recruiter back so that my file name is fully viewable while it sits as an attachment.

FirstName_LastName.pdf (nothing to signal here)

FirstName_LastName_DDMMYYYY.pdf (to indicate the recency of my resume)

FirstName_LastName_JobProfile.pdf (to indicate I have the profile you're looking for)

FirstName_LastName_ApplyingCompanyName.pdf (to signal I have made efforts to create a resume specifically for your company)

FirstName_LastName_ImmediatelyAvailable.pdf (I'm immediately available. Hire me!)

Good nudge on the last option.

Whether people like it or not, we all get judged during our entire interview process. Your file name is where everything starts. It's a great inventory, I feel personally.

Honestly naming conventions don't matter much, but it's easier to store/share/view if named correctly.
'Wolf_Gupta_Resume_Analyst.pdf' is better than 'Wolf.docx'

I personally find the people irresponsible if they don't name their resume correctly.
PS - I get 250+ resumes for every vacancy!

Have you seen any with titles like 'please_hire_me' or 'I_need_a_job'? Or IIT/IIM folks adding IIT/IIM in resume names?

No, most of the candidates are serious when they are applying!

I don’t look at the name first, I look at the experience.

If the experience is good, I confirm their name with recruiters/HR for an interview. So file name doesn’t matter at all tbh. It’s just a file.

I've got calls with Untitled(1).pdf I was a novice and was looking for my first switch. Nowadays I use (firstname)_(jobprofile)_resume.pdf
