Religion matters

I am hindu and believe in God, just because I am religious my boss scolds me because he believes that only science data exists . I feel bad when I need to lie that yes I don't believe in God just to make him happy he can't accept us that we believe in God....

He believes in data but doesn't see the data on people who believe in God. Pathetic.

He feels it's useless.... Going to the temple or believing in God for him only science is everything... Ram, Krishna, shiva all are drama and people who believe is such a fool

Tell your manager this - Science and religion are two different aspects of life. And a person can have faith in both.

Science at high level is a way of understanding the outside world through experiments and observations. Sometimes we make mistakes in science when we do not have enough observations or wrong observations. For example, for a long time humanity thought atom particles like proton, neutron and electrons were the most fundamental particles that made up the universe. We were wrong.

Religion on the other hand mostly focuses on understanding the inner self. How do achieve peace of mind? How should communities behave? Is there one fundamental force that unifies everything?

Sure, there are a lot of problems due to religion since people take them to extreme and start discrimination. But that's a humanity problem. Not a religion one. The most widespread destruction to humanity (holocaust) and to the planet (global warming) have been aided by science, not religion. Science also contributes.

I am an engineer so I rely on science for work. But the goodness and kindness in me is pushed by the faith that there is one fundamental force residing in all. Perhaps one day science will be able to discover that force and we will have a unified set of principles which guides the humanity forward.

Then this is a good chance to learn how to ignore people like your manager. Stop worrying, focus on your work and grow.

Everything don't need to be proved. Something is believe and faith.

If some believe is giving people some hopes, motivation whats wrong in that?

And anyway everyone can choose what to follow, you should tell him this.

Some thoughts on faith and belief

Something’s been on my mind over the last few months – how we tiptoe around faith like it's taboo. Never got why. GV just seemed to be the right place to talk about this since I didn't want to get gaslighted elsewhere on social media and...

What are your thoughts on God / Religion?

Are you a believer? Are you religious? Why or why not? Tell me your views or personal stories related to this.

I'm asking because I'm curious and not to start a flame war.
