Options to move out of India
Background:
Working as a senior software engineer at Microsoft India with 7.5 years of total experience. TC ~1.1 cr, consistently received above average ratings and bonus.
As I am nearing 4 years at Microsoft, I am looking to explore new opportunities outside. Currently I am working remotely, and living closer to family and friends. But since most high paying jobs in India are not remote-friendly (Google,Uber etc.), I might have to relocate to BLR/HYD.
Since I will have to anyways move to a new city, I am more and more inclined towards moving abroad - London, Zurich, Amsterdam, Singapore or Tokyo
- What are my options to move to one of these cities?
- Are there companies who hire engineers from India and sponser work visa?
- Is this option worth exploring or should I give up this dream and start interviewing in India?
Please suggest, it would really help me set my expectations right and plan for the next 6 month

What about remote options in India? Confluent, Airbnb, atlassian etc? Given the chances of getting remote offer in India and any offer from abroad looks same no?
Yes that’s definitely an option. However, working remotely for 5 years straight takes a toll on your mental health. I am more inclined towards an in-office/hybrid setup for my next gig. But i absolutely dread moving to BLR (have stayed there in the past, and things have just gotten worse). Hence, moving to a city abroad with better quality of life seems more exciting to me
Work it out with your mentor/manager. Strategize that move...tell them you would like to move in next 6months to 1 year. Take their opinion and also check for similar moves done in your ORG and see their success story! All the best.
These kind of threads make you feel worthless. Dude is sitting on 1.1 CR TC with little over 7 yrs exp and works from home with all comfort still he wants more and wants to work from major tier 1 city like hyderabad or bangalore. He also consistently receives bonus and perks is still unhappy and wants to explore.
Clear eg. Of once you start doing it, there's no going back. Though from the author's pov, that person makes sense, working remotely for 5years, listening to that only makes me feel like-😮💨. And that person been through that, on top that it's mentioned that he/she has to relocate. So why not given a chance to explore outside, keeping in mind that there will be better opportunities outside.
Also nowhere is mentioned if the person is unhappy, it's just that now author wishes to explore after working remotely for so long.
Iam. Interested🎉

I'm getting TC 3% of your salary as a 2.5YOE. can you please help me with a roadmap or anything that can assist me in my next 5 year goal to get a good salary. Can anyone kindly help your junior. BTW I'm a web dev with react.js/nodejs skils
Nobody can give a roadmap. If you want salary growth, you won't get it if you stay at Witch companies. You can stay for 10 years at tcs and still get less than 2 yoe guy in mid sized product company.
So Role no 1 - get out of witch companies asap
Role no 2 - always remember Rule no 1
