Motivation will not last. You don't need motivation. You have to think about it as an essential part of your lifestyle. Otherwise you will keep seeking for ways you already know.

I have a personal trainer. That is an external motivation, but it is working for me. I make sure I wake up on days when I have session with him because I feel bad if he shows up and finds that I haven't shown up

As we don't need motivation everyday to eat, sleep or s**t, the same way better don't look for motivation for fitness. Start small and be consistent. Slowly it will become a habit.
