I wonder why this was mystery till now? From Boat to Noise to even those fancy water bottles, everything is “Made in China”. Just search for Canton fair on YT, you’ll see many D2C manufacturers selling things at dirt cheap prices.

Oh India is also in luggage game?

How is this news?
You see any d2c company/brand🍆🧅 in India with fancy marketing and 100% they are selling you Chinese made goods at double the price. If it's cosmetics then they are just bottling it from a manufacturer who supplies it to all top 10 brands you see on Amazon. Consumer electronics, fashion, yada yada same story.

And there is nothing wrong in this. People just fall for fancy marketing bullshit.

They got called out on twitter by some other guy who's selling bags made in India.. But that guy's products themselves are mid. No one's selling anything innovative.

Did it not occur once that that these Chinese manufacturers could have copied Mokobaras designs?

Mokobara has their design patents. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mehulkanodia_i-left-mokobara-a-year-ago-and-i-used-to-activity-7286787693156409344-V1i4?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios

Time and again we prove the Indian frogs in a jar story right.

It's all good according to me as long as the designs are still made in India. China doesn't have the concept of patent which can mean that if you manufacture there, there's high chance it's ripped off.

But if the designs were still by Mokobara team then it doesn't take away the credit. But it's a big 'But'. I can't confirm what i don't know. Will give them credit if it's true.

This is most Indian D2C brands, they talk about make in India but only their label is made in India.

India card to justify anything/everything

The problem with such founders is - They will try to play “Indian brand” card as reasoning for over-priced IPO but the majority of issue was secondary sale. A minor part will go into the “so-called” Indian brand and it’s expansion.

What's a D2C brand from India that you really like?

For me - Mokobara, Chaayos, Chumbak Looking to understand Indian brands that have done really well, and understand if it's the product being superior or brand/marketing being an outlier
