
Manager with no one to manage
Have been given Engineering Manager position but there is no one to manage. I am developing the code, doing unit testing, preparing BRD, FRD,etc. Then deploy from DEV to UAT and then to Prod. Lastly fixing bugs as well and logging them to Jira.
When I ask my manager to give me some juniors as m heavily packed with work then he say : "Who do you want ? These GEN Zs ? They will dump their work on you and will run away."
Last year 2 GenZ were actually onboarded to my team but then one of them ghosted (absconded the company). Other one didn't even do 10% work and eventually left after 6 months.
What should I do ??

There are many out there who will work sincerely but atleast they should get a chance to prove so

Same here , but the thing is , when we ask a doubt or something related to it we are being ghosted and it is a fact. Irrespective of which organisation you go.

What is GENZ why they are absconded any reason? The work is routine and as usual then what is the risk in that?
