email sounds right to me, looks like a senior calling out mediocrity

maybe talking to them in person and in a professional way would have been better, but still LGTM

This is the worst way to give feedback. Would you appreciate it if you were spoken about like this and the email was sent to the entire Business unit?

WigglyPenguin

i would send emails like this myself if I'm done with the bullshit around me, I have actually done something similar when I was on my notice period in my past.

and in few situations, beggars shouldn't be choosers

Dude, Cyril Amarchandas Mangaldas and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas are the Top 2 Law Firms in the country.

Haha this is my favorite comment because it's like saying Reliance is some rando brand.

The number of people in the comments who are okay with this just reflects how much toxic behaviour has been normalised in India

PrancingMochi

True and the fucking bubble they live in . They dont how toxic are law firms in general are

Yes, such idiots deserve a humiliating scolding and soft pushing out of the building in front of everyone. Be polite or GTFO. Damn fools read Steve jobs and think that’s the damn way. That idiot showed the wrong example be being a horrible person to work with.

It's all great for tech folks and robotics engineers to live in their la la land where everyone is mollycoddled.. For the rest of us, this is the way the world works....if you are incompetent, you are fired...

As expected of a law firm partner. They are one of the most toxic PoS you can find in the corporate world - not just withtheir employees but also with their clients.

CAM is one of the biggest law firm out there. You can find horror stories about working there online.

Damn. Is that true. I didn’t know that.

Law firms culture is like that from what I know. Just had a friend crib about it for hours early in the morning

Why are people calling this normal? There's a way you point out bad work, and there's a respect boundary that needs to be maintained even then.

If so many people have gone through shit like this and made it normal, we need to look back at our working tbh

SquishyMarshmallow

If the juniors aren't being respectful, and turning in shoddy work, then it seems fair to be called out for it.

Email seems like the sender has had enough of their disrespectful behaviour and 💩 work.

ZestyQuokka

Fire them. The last thing you would want to write something like this over uneraseable media and that too as lawyers

SleepyPickle
SleepyPickle

Should have been done in a 1:1 setting but if the feedback was true (about snide comments and incompetent work), I don't see how it shouldn't be called out. I'm surprised they aren't fired if half of what's written is true.

LOL. The foul language and ranting you hear in top corporates , this seems like normal.

I have been personally chased by boss with scissors, told that they will throw me from the window in front of while floor (we were on 21st floor), thrown under the bus in front of company president by boss ( “He is responsible for the issue”, wasn’t even my project)

Have heard even worse scolding from presidents to my boss, super boss. Throwing phones at people and lot more which I can’t say.

Mind you these were not small companies but MNCs (Indian as well as foreign origin).

You can only do two things, swallow your pride and work or look for new job. Most industries in India are too small, you will have to deal with same people again in future so no point in burning bridges.

In which job , the environment is like this

WobblyRaccoon

Most of the companies I think.
In some fields this is across all levels (for example field sales). In some fields you see ugly side as you get closer to the top.

Especially pronounced / common when it is founder/ family run company.

That doesnt sound like ‘doing a job right’. If GenZ believes in meritocracy, may be try doing the job right

Feedback could have been shared in a better way obviously but OP looks like he/she is jist crying foul after being at receiving end
