Keeping aside the heat of the work hour controversy recently, what should be the work hours honestly in India?
Hoping for the productivity and efforts curve to align
40 hrs/wk like USA
45-50 hrs/wk as employees fill in the timesheet
70-80 hrs/wk like legendary CEO’s and our not so legendary managers will want
Or just 35 hrs/wk or 4 days/wk like Europe (though impossible in India)

It should be flexible. Put in enough hours to get the work done. There should be a cap though, so that people are not overworked. In case of extra work load more team members can be added to the project to ease the load.
A lot depends on the company culture, state of business, etc.

Depends on the pay. I get paid enough to pay my way out of cooking to laundry, I don't mind writing and extra hours.
