is Job Market F*cked?

BG: 6 YOE, Automation Engineer. Rage quitted prior company as they lied throughout my tenure about role transition. Then joined a WITCH company for the role, ended up being the same fucked up lie.

So within a month I dropped paper and they gave me early release, now the profile looks like I've taken a 2 months break! So since then I'm trying to get a job in automation.

Market is so fucked up, and I've been unemployment for the last 2 months even though i have the skills, and crack all the interview rounds, at last I'm receiving the email as "feedback was not positive".

But when asked for specific feedback, they ghost me, and some says "budget is not approved" but we discussed it even before having the interview scheduled.

I started doubting my skills, and capabilities. It's been continuously same, not one person rejected me saying that I'm technically incompetent, but somehow I'm not selected in any interview

My previous salary was 20 LPA, and I'm asking 10 - 20% from that as a hike, but still not getting any offers. I've applied many companies from their official site, and got some referrals too, but nothing helped.

So anyone can here shed some lights why I'm getting an issue securing a job whilest being an immediate joiner with reasonable pay?

Dont know what to say..but for this gap you can mention family issues or personal issues. But I beleive this is not due to gap. Remember one thing..you have to sell yourself on market so always quote higher price for yourself..maybe after negotiation agree on less.but quoation price should always be higher. Indian mentality:Majority of people judge the quality by price. Higher the price..better the quality is.

One more thing..never make your self available within a week of 15 days..say your are available to join within 30 days..you have some personal/family commitment and you will be available to join within 30 days lile 25-30 days.check for any joining bonus for early joiners..this will artificially make you sound confident ...and not desparate. No place for desparates dude!!!

Won't say the market is fucked -
reference : my cousin brother (Full-stack developer) switched with 100% hike (on base component)
YOE : 6.5years
CTC : 38 LPA (from 22LPA - 18fixed + 4bonus)

this was inbound offer on Naukri portal - so no particular job hunt.

hope it helps.

Good for him, if possible ask him if referrals are possible or can he ask the HR for any openings

Market is f****d for sure Also, I believe that hiring managers are avoiding too strong candidates who might challenge his position later on ... no one says this ... everyone is looking for job security nowadays

Yeah, in my last project also, the management always wanted me to get in some trouble, but i never get caught, i played professionally. They couldn't touch me, in any way. Good feedback from clients. Not just me, my manager cannot stand technically strong people's in his presence

I am facing the same issue. Have been searching for a job in software testing but no luck.
The problem is the application either gets rejected or even if the interview is scheduled (which barely happens), I get rejected. Don't know how to move ahead with this kind of situation.

Instead of liking, if given suggestions would be much appreciated 🙂

I’m not sure how much my suggestion will help, but I have 5.5 years of experience in the same SDET role. I recently received a great offer, and I'm still getting interview calls even though my last working day is July 18.

It’s possible that your resume or profile isn’t ATS friendly. Try updating your resume and keep your online profiles up to date. Also, consider building a test automation framework from scratch and showcasing it on your GitHub. If you’re truly skilled, you can definitely crack it. Good luck.

Your first mistake is quitting your job without an offer , your an experienced person , u should not be rage quitting your job and then complain that your un employed , learn to keep your composure , and you have done this twice , world is unfair and people lie but you need to keep your head steady and not act out

BubblyPretzel

Thats true i accept, dont show u r rage or anger in ur corporative world. At the end u will be in danger not the company or u r teamtes, u need to handle it easily and leave the company. Fighting or showing anger, u wont get anything other than trouble u will face

Actually I quit because that time market was good and I all of my friends are getting calls. So I chose to leave the company. But the funny thing is like i didn't get any calls after I put paper

From ur words I see u have a bit attitude
Nothing wrong with that
Companies lie is true Same with candidates lie in resume about their skills 6yoe is just maturing stage Understanding the environment and taking the decisions with calm is very important

FloatingCoconut

I wouldn't say attitude, but I'm truthful to myself and doing my job. I'm bit of a straight forward, but with empathy. When someone's not keeping words, I can't stand them, so it's a negative side working in this corporate.

Btw I'm always open for constructive feedback, and got many praising from all my stakeholders and managers for doing that
