Indians have some character and mental problems
I've experienced this , that Indians don't value their work. They twist and turn and go round and round. Even if the things that need to be done are straight. What they lack in terms of work capacity and competency, they solve with the power of words and try to sound smart when they actually act stupid. I found Western guys I've worked far good and straightforward and honest. They value what deserves to be valued.
Something is totally wrong here... And it's difficult to find what exactly as it's all over the place. There is no contrast.
Idk this is my personal opinion and what I found according to my personal experiences.

Yes Indians are a resource hungry and highly prejudiced race. It comes from upbringing, insane competition to get the basic of things and that changes our mental model towards work. We are a race with abject poverty in line of sight and there is extreme cancel culture.
For eg. If there is say an entry level software engineer, look at the ratios. He is say 1 in 400 in the US (assuming there are 1 million SEs in US) and in India (assuming there are even 2 million SEs) that ratio is 1 in 2000. Now there is a quality curve, and its not a perfect system... so its possible that a lot more 'leakage' happens. Then comes the factor of English... some SEs may be percieved as better just because they can speak good english, while its a level playing field in US.
What does sincerity get you in a system that is inefficient ? Rules that dont apply? You become one with the system
This is my read and it will be eons before India becomes even a half just society. Until then it will just be Indians covering their asses vs actually getting some good work done....

I have experienced this too. Another thing I struggled with is an Indian colleague of mine would ask for help and would block time with me to understand stuff (design, schema, code or anything). And infront of our Western manager he would point out flaws. Why couldn't he give that feedback when he was having meeting with me.

This might be in your particular domain. I have quite a contrasting opinion on this. Indians I worked with are straight forward and up to the point. I worked with some foreign colleges also. In ratio I can say that 95 percent Indians are straight forward and the remaining 5 percent Indians are mostly in management who twist and just waste others time.
