If there is a website where you could put your salary and instantly know where you rank, would you use it?
It will tell you what’s your rank and salary of people above you and below you.
Same goes for net worth, MF portfolio size, personal milestones like bench press weights, BMI, etc.
Everything obviously be 100% confidential.
Maybe, but most likely not. Some questions to ask yourself:
How would salaries be vetted? People post their earnings on GV, quora, reddit, and every other forum all the time. It's easy to hide behind anonymity but it doesn't make it believable.
What do I get as user posting my salary? You say it's like a competitive leaderboard. But if I wanted to be at the top l, I'd just say my salary is 200+ cr and someone else could say it's 300cr.
What does it do for someone viewing it, who's actually being honest about their salary? Imo, depression.
Your idea, works based on the mutual trust of your users and in a perfect world, it would be great.
Maybe things that people are less likely to lie about are a better approach. Idk just thoughts, assumptions

this

It’s not a leaderboard but more of a fact/reality check. And there is no way to control the users to make them enter the right answer just like there is no way to control them to vote on the right options on the poll.

I am not very interested in this, but curious to whom will you compare me ?
Like the CEO or intern have very different levels of income
Also 50k salary in Bangalore will have less value in Mumbai

It’s not an individual to individual comparison. It’s a simple ranking board. Everyone enters their number and get a rank. There will be demographic filters of states and cities

I will build it. And share it. It will be a part of www.opinionhub.io

Yes, good idea and I can see some demand for this.

This is a Times of India website. Shows of you are earning 34K per month, you are in the top 1% in India by household income.
Should open some eyes, how extremely poor a large population of this nation is. And how huge is the wealth divide.

Define 'use'? It's a one time view at max...
