If personal training was affordable, would you take it?
Let’s say money is not an issue.

What's their deal in India? Do they need to attend a course and pass exams? The trainers I've come across don't display or mention any such thing. I'd be very reluctant to get a personal trainer, no matter the cost.

Absolutely. But let’s say that the trainer is no fraud and he knows his stuff well. Would you then? My issue is that there is so much content out there for exercises but I have to figure what is best for me. Hence, I spend a lot of time going through videos. Many content creators are just for views so their advice is not always apt. For someone who doesn’t know much, so many machines can be overwhelming and lastly the most important thing, even if I know the things to do, am I doing it correctly? How do I know that?

I go to Cult Fit. I assume the people who designed the course plans understand the stuff. They are standard HIIT stuff that you find on many YouTube channels. And you definitely can hurt yourself badly if you're doing the exercises wrongly. For example, if your back is bent while lifting barbells, you can do permanent damage to yourself. The group session leaders at Cult look out for such things and guide you with the correct posture.
To an absolute beginner, I'd say, give Cult a try for a year. You would still be doing something good to yourself, and a year is enough to further explore the field.

The only reason I have one is because I need someone to keep me accountable to go to the gym and exercise every day at least the first 3 months until I get into the habit, I pay around 5k per month for a trainer but I consider it a self investment.

Totally agree. For those who can afford it, it’s the best investment. I hope you can keep the discipline after 3 months. A lot of people still can’t.

Can someone post why no?🥲

Because I love doing whatever I feel like doing that day. Introducing new exercises, trying different variations is why I hit the gym.
OTOH, if you need help on posture corrections, understanding the science behind exercises, you can very well sign up for a 3-4 month PT.

Makes sense. So I am assuming you have been working out for quite some time then and you know about exercises and how to do them correctly. Is that right?
