I denied my availability for an interview call on a specific date. No response from company side again yet.
Hello, I am a Data Analyst working with Capgemini with 2yrs experience and currently on a look out for switching company. I got an email from Infosys for an interview call after they got my CV shortlisted. They asked for my availability on 26th April but due to a pre-scheduled project meeting on the same day, I couldn’t promise my availability and sent them a negative response. It has just been 2 days, and I know the processes take up a lot of time but I just want to know if I did wrong by not confirming my availability? Did I blow up my chance to go through an interview?
Certainly not panicking but afraid because this would be the first interview I am shortlisted for yet, and I definitely need to switch and relocate asap.

Don't worry. If they really liked your profile, they will come back. HR from big MNCs work with certain methods and a lot of patience. So, keep calm and eat Aam 🥭... All the best!

Thanks Buddy!🫶🏻

You can wait for one week and send a gentle reminder to HR asking for an update and reiterating them about your problem in brief which caused you to miss their timing of the interview. This will also give them the impression that you're a professional and give importance to your current company as you are still part of it. Unprofessional employee loses interest in the current company from the day they start receiving another company calls.
