How to take better decisions in life?

Hey i am a very indecisive kinda person. I cant decide which color, what to eat and anything where i dont have a built in preference. Well these things are small and insignificant.

But when it comes to taking bigger decisions it might be career or personal life where you have to listen to your heart or gut feeling as well. It becomes messier to decide...

So how do u deal with it?

As such there is no pre-defined roadmap or logic, small decisions don't impact our life to much not much at stake so no overthinking and all.....but for bigger ones stakes are high, that's why we overthink our head spins and it becomes messy.

And there is no such thing as "better decisions" If the outcome is good then it's a good decision else we all know....so one needs to take one to know if it is a good decision or bad.

I prefer gut feeling over strone graved truth. My mind knows what I am feeling , no truth has been graved keeping my feelings in mind so i go with gut feeling and little bit common sense 🫣, if I end up in a bad decision, then i also I am ok with because I know, i thought of something which didn't work out is okay. Then feel sad for few days / weeks / months . But life goes on

True very true. I also follow gut feeling. But when finances are involved like moving to a new city or smthing. Changes r huge. And u know change is scary

Just decide and don't overthink.

Wrong decision> No decision

Try the ‘10-10-10 Rule’ for big decisions: How will this choice feel in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years? It helps balance short-term emotions with long-term impact. Beyond this, try the ‘Regret Minimization Framework’ (from Jeff Bezos) - Picture yourself at 80, will you regret not taking this path? Also, even after this if you are un-decisive, follow this razor
“If you can’t decide, the answer is No”

If the decision is small or won't significantly impact your future, and you're struggling to choose, just toss a coin or pick randomly—it won't matter much in the long run.

But if the decision is big, don’t choose based on short-term benefits. Choose what will be better for your future. Think of it as giving advice to your future self—as if you're speaking to yourself from a perspective. You’ll thank yourself later for making the wiser choice.

And for those decisions you want to make but hold back out of fear or doubt—just go for it, man.

I keep my decisions making simple by asking 'what to do?' to my heart and 'How to do?' to my mind, because I always believe our heart consciousness knows better...It might not always be the best decision but its always the right one.
