How to switch from banking sales to IT ? SHOULD DO OR NOT ?

Lots of advertisements coming now a days for joining data analytics or data science courses to switch in IT sector, As I am currently working in banking sector with experience of 3.5 years, should I opt for such courses ? Please suggest whether it would be safe move or not in terms of career.
