How to chill in Bangalore?

Hi, I am a 2023 graduate and currently working in a product based startup in Indiranagar. When I came to Bangalore a few months ago, it was all fun and exciting. I still love my work (working in multiple tech stacks). But somehow life outside the work has become somewhat boring. I do go on bike ride trips but again can't go every weekend.

I play badminton and cricket sometimes but still feel bored sometimes.

I don't go to clubs as I don't drink and smoke. Would love if you folks can suggest something?

I would suggest going on activities with new group of people. Pick up hobbies. Make new friends (and a gf 😉). Keep yourself busy with new things, keep yourself excited with new activities. There are lots to do and see around in Bangalore.

Anything is achievable for me (from solving 0 dsa problems to 2300+ dsa problems, Working on five desktops with flutter codebase on 1st, react on 2nd, spring boot in 3rd, qml in 4th and CPP in 5th) except making a gf 🤧

With that mindset, yeah not much hope for you 😂… and I doubt you can even solve 2300+ dsa problems too!

I don't want to do it alone. I need a company.

There are groups that organise them. If you are interested, go a couple of times and you will start making friends with like minded people..

Please work 70 hours/week, then you will not have time to think about extra time

I am highly productive at work. Sometimes I finish 80 hours of work and in less than 40 hours.

When I was in Bangalore, I used to follow the Bangalore Mountaineering Club. They still post pictures on Facebook from time to time so they're still active.

A couple of my friends were in theatre (performance as well as audience). They are very active and I gather Bangalore has a great theatre scene.

My personal vice were rock shows but they seem to have stopped. Iron Maiden, Metallica and Poets of the Fall used to visit frequently. There was always some cover band performing on weekends in one of the christ road pubs.

Another favourite time pass was reading. I would visit blossom once a month at least. My friends tell me they hold reading sessions in gardens in Jayanagar.

Then there's obviously Toastmasters, tech meetups. People keep shaming me for visiting book clubs instead of tech meetups on weekends - to each his own.

Work on weekends. You are a fresher. Learn quickly , you can move quickly. Why waste time on cricket and biking?

I am very hardworking at work and productive as well. Takes up the entire ownership of the project as well.

Planning to do some side hustle (startup or freelancing) to engage during weekends as well.
