I feel this number is absolutely correct from the recent weddings that I've seen. And this is just an average and approximate number. People spend all their savings for various reasons, and with higher tax rates, the only winner is the government (and the politicians scamming that money eventually 🤷♂️🤷♂️).

This must be cost for wedding in North India. In Many south indian state marriage is very simple and often done within 5 lakhs
