How much do you actually work in a day?
Trying to understand how the community is split across working hours, might be an interesting exercise :p

Work is not just sitting in front of the computer
Commuting to work is also work Dressing up for work is also work Planning work is also work Thinking about is, surprise, also work!

Concerned about 8+ hour workers. Is it by passion or enforced?

Mostly enforced because of heavy workloads and tight deadlines. Even out of passion, you can't be this much productive working on anything. Even if you're that much productive and passionate, corporate will actually kill either or both of these eventually.

Then, the question alone isn't much. Getting a lot more dimensions to the data (YOE, pay wrt to industry standards, city, key skillset, job level, industry to mention some of them) become vital to actually make any conclusions. 1.36K votes or more aren't much helpful in drawing any meaningful conclusions
(There should also be an unemployed option too to not club those with 'Less than 4 hours'.)

Wrong question asked!
In my case when product is in development phase i need to work on constantly and sometimes skipped breaks
And when product is in a technology hands so things will be better drastically
So your question options doesn't work at all!

12-14 hours if work is very common amongst consultants and investment bankers. Also these are net work hours. Travelling, flight delays etc to be added over this

All 12+ must be investment banking or startups
