HELP ME PLEASE! My manager won't give me a holiday for Diwali 😔
My manager is asking me to be on-call on Diwali and has asked me to report in person. This is absolute stupidity. Although I will be compensated at 2.5x of my hourly pay but I would rather spend time with my family.
What should I do? I have already tried to indicate that I have old parents and I want to spend as much time with them as possible especially given the limited moments I get to celebrate special occasions with them.

I am a Generalist Consultant. I charge 1000/hr for my exotic services in a multifarious range of services.

Drop an email looping your manager and his manager sharing your planned time off .... take it and parallel prepare to leave such toxic work culture so that atleast next year you do not have to face such scenarios
