Headed for a correction?
I think this is the worst phase to be in for looking out for jobs..
just recently given an interview. Got the feedback of strong technicals but lacking confidence & bias for action in last round🥴 was so confident to get hired in there but it looks they have found some low ctc ask candidate and thus, did some cost saving there..absolutely disappointing.
are we heading into salaries correction phase for real? fyi i had asked fairly for industry standards.. do you guys quote ctc expectations during the initial convo with hr? any experiences here

Btw industry doesn't work like that.. i mean you won't see direct downfall in TCs. it will flow indirectly like high TCs were made to work significantly more than people on same level with lower TCs or hiring freshers or low TC folks and giving more responsibilities to higher TC folks to bring the overall avg of team down. i have seen this happening and this would no good deal than straightforward reduction in TC

There is need for good talent, but at the same time pressure to reduce costs, hence the budgets are low for most roles these days. Hopefully things will change very soon

Yes, please quote expectations early and get their budget too when you do this.

I haven’t seen big drops in TC. Just the openings have reduced
