For the love of god, is there a way to use WhatsApp on your laptop which doesn't suck as much as WhatsApp Web?

Asking specifically for Mac. It throws into error so many times, hangs a lot, messages load slowly, and crashes every few times.

Would appreciate if someone's figured an alternative.

web.whatsapp.com works pretty well in the browser

Hey @MeanCombat12 thanks for reminding me of the browser version. Used to actually use it until a few years ago the app came along. Just deleted the app and shifted back to browser, so far so good!

Thanks 🍻

+1, use the browser application. The native app sucks big time

Whatsapp app for Mac, download from App Store

No - that itself is the problem. The app is extremely slow, takes forever to load, and crashes a lot

Actually I think @MeanCombat12 may have solved my issue

Ha when you meant WhatsApp web, it meant browser version. But great you found your answer!

Use Rambox

It's way too bloated. Ferdium is better. You can even set workspaces. Don't know the MacOS equivalent though.

Both of them are essentially dumbed down browsers or made using Electron. So an alternative approach is to use Firefox with Firefox containers since OP liked the idea of web.whatsapp.com

I just like the idea of all accounts in 1 app on pc

Use the beta desktop app, it's a native macos. Works super smooth.

The browser version of Whatsapp is quite good. But I think the downside is that you can't do voice / video calls via the browser.
