Feeling lost and tired
I've been in this industry for over 15 years and do have a job, a supportive family, a bit of hardships, and a kid. I am at that stage of my life where I feel I am hitting a mid-life crisis.
With so many things happening on industry changes, upskilling and adapting to AI. Market uncertainity and geo political situation, it makes me feel like my motivation is slowly dying and puts me in a bubble of random thoughts and dissatisfaction. Not to mention, WFH puts you in silos.
I dont know how many of you have gone through this, but I need to raise a family with a kid and old parents, besides living in a city and a mortgage. But the mind keeps putting me in a zone of fear, bothersome and comparison and makes me retrospect on my choices and chances missed to make it big, that I dont feel excited in anything, be it work, relationships, outings etc..It just feels like surviving to make ends meet but emotionally draining..
Have you ever faced like this and bounced back? I need advice and suggestions on how to move forward!!

This is so common right now - that feeling of just going through the motions while your mind constantly spirals. It's exhausting. Your brain is basically stuck in survival mode from all the stress. When this happens, the parts that feel excitement and motivation shut down to conserve energy. Few things that actually help: Morning reset - Don't check your phone for the first 10 mins after waking up. Just sit with coffee. Stops your stress hormones from spiking. Stop the spiral - When you start that "what if" thinking, ground yourself. Name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear. Pulls your brain back to present. Small wins - Your motivation is shot. Start noticing tiny accomplishments. Finished a task? Good. Nice moment with your kid? Acknowledge it. Change your space - WFH makes everything blur. Work from different spots throughout the day. The comparison thing is brutal but remember - you only see other people's highlight reel. Your 15 years experience still matters even with industry changes. We actually talk about this exact struggle in our Press Pause community on WhatsApp - so many people dealing with this midlife recalibration phase. Helps to know you're not alone. This phase does pass but you gotta be intentional. Start with the morning thing, give it 2 weeks. You'll get your spark back.
