Feeling Isolated and Stuck After Job Transfer to Chennai"

"I’m a North Indian and new to Chennai. My company transferred me here, but I don’t know anyone—no friends, no family. I’m also bound by a 3-year bond, and even though I requested a transfer, my manager isn’t approving it. Every day feels the same: I go to the office, work, come back, and sleep like a robot. I have no one to talk to, and it’s becoming really frustrating. I can’t even quit the job. What should i do

Make friends by joining Meetup groups, attending tech conferences, meeting people on dating sites, joining hobby classes, attending religious events at the local church (or whatever religion you might follow), going to plays or music concerts, etc.

You will not magically find friends to talk to. You have to go out to places & events where you can meet like-minded people, and start interacting with them. You can speak English, so you can already communicate with all the university-educated level people in Chennai.

And stop thinking about North & South. Human beings are pretty much the same all over the world, and we have 95% things in common in life with any human being in the world, with similar desires, feelings, goals, aspirations, fears, & daily life events. So be open & curious, and start connecting with people at a human level, and they will reciprocate.

And pretty soon, you should have a nice social circle of local friends & acquaintances. That's how you live the single life in a new place. All the best, & have fun! 👍

Thanks bro for your advice

Actually, that's not a bad idea. If I ever move to the south to Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Chennai, I fully intend to sign-up for language classes and learn Telugu, Kannada, or Tamil, as per the location. 😊
