Does your company compensate you for working on the weekends?

In my org you get comp off means your number of paid leaves increases, so if you worked on weekends you can avail for extra leaves

I'll make this policy for my company, any suggestions on what all to include?

If I have to work on weekends, my manager informally asks me to stay away from work during down period. I can literally stay away from laptop for the entire day. It works for me. I typically take those on Monday or Friday to extend the weekend

It is a sin to work on weekends.
