I wanted to know that if you are put on PIP, which basically means you are about to be fired and you resign from your position before PIP ends, does it show up during background verification that this guy was put on PIP in oyr company.
Also how strict is this background verification, does the third party verification also enquire about your performance in the previous company?
I guess PIP process differs in every organisation, one of the company I worked earlier.. they were extremely sensitive to PIP candidates.. and I have seen people coming out of PIP and getting retained and treated like any other employee and incase if somebody doesn’t clear PIP, they are asked to leave but we’re given enough time to look out for job and HR never disclosed their rating to BVG companies
But I guess such companies are rare
this is how it should happen ideally. Unless, there is an explicit directive from the Leaders to get someone out of the org. Not saying it is justified or something, but this is happening because leadership has decided that this person should be out, obviously they send HR to do it or pick up after they have done the deed.

I also resigned because of the same thing. They were not giving me in writing that they are asking for resignation. So they gave me 0/5 rating and then told me about PIP and said if you don't resign, we will terminate you after PIP ends. A very good tool for companies to lay off. And HR people are liars, they suck, curse them, they should dieeeee.
