Do you feel comfortable to discussing your mental health issues with your HR ?
Yes, by all means give ammunition for them to fire you. And please don't tell me that they can't do that because of the law, rules or some reason. You are giving them hard evidence which even if they can't be directly leveraged as a reason to fire, it still will be used in some other way or they will find a loophole.
Keep your work life and personal affairs separate.
Discussing mental health issues with HR is like talking about chicken biryani with a vegetarian. They won't understand a thing but pretend like they know about it.
And more over , HR is a misnomer. They should be called IA or interview arrangers.

Never do it. HR are never your friend. If you really must talk to someone, do with colleagues and max with manager
